About the College

(A) College History
On August 1, 2005, Taipei Municipal Teachers College became the Taipei Municipal University of Education; in that year the College of Science was also founded. At the time of its founding, the school included the Department of Natural Science Education, the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology Education, and the Department of Physical Education, along with the independent Graduate Institute of Environmental Education and Graduate Institute of Science Education. On August 1, 2013, Taipei Municipal University of Education was combined with Taipei Physical Education College to form the University of Taipei. Our school now incorporates 5 departments and 1 master’s program. These departments are installed separately in the university’s science hall, the Gong-Cheng Complex, and the administrative building. We have applied much of our efforts to planning and updating the laboratories and other research facilities/equipment of our departments, and have thus created a very capable assemblage of science and technology education, research, and guidance.
In the near future, the departments plan to coordinate with enterprises and also develop international cooperation. The department is also actively involved in arranging for the enlargement of the university branch at the Second Campus; renewing equipment  for research, such as for laboratory use; and forming expert teams for scientific and technological education and research.
